Spring Pampering Day - RECAP

July 2, 2018

On May 20th we had our 3rd Pampering Day.  At GJC, we want to provide events that are personal, educational, and of course fun. This afternoon was just that - everyone sat and chatted, sharing their businesses, stories, and who they were. The participants left feeling calm, satiated with delicious food and drinks, and full of light.

Interested in coming to an event?

We asked a few participants to share their experiences of the day. Thank you to Kerry and Dee for coming and being part of the event.

Kerry: GJC Pampering Day introduced me to members of the JC wellness commnunity who are also my neighbors. The treatments, meditation, and to be honest, the wine left me feeling relaxed long after the event ended. It was a wonderful local event.

Dee: I've entered a ton of giveaways on Instagram, but have never won. I was starting to think they were all are rigged, until I found myself the lucky winner of a ticket to the Growing in Jersey City Pampering Day! It was a sunny afternoon full of local vendors who all offered their own unique form of “pampering.” From acupuncture, freshly baked breads, natural oils, and my favorite, hair braiding. I couldn't have asked for anything more than a Sunday filled with unique experiences, good people and warm conversation. And the best part of all was that it was right in my new neighborhood, Jersey City Heights.

We are so grateful for the amazing businesses who participated and shared their amazing energy.

Leah Guy the Modern Sage - Leah opened her home to us and provided the perfect relaxing location. She had her truck open and a table set up outside people shopped her crystals, crystal sprays, candles, and more. She led a group meditation and the weather turned around so we sat on the deck and soaked in the gorgeous weather.

(We just had our Full Moon Meditation with Leah Guy and it was fantastic.)

Ion Performance Care - is headed by Anthony Davis. Wanting to provide a one stop shop for athletes to help in workout recovery - epsom salts, soaps, scrubs. The product is also great for non-performance reasons and perfect for a great bath. People got to take home a choice from their bath salt offerings. You can find them in some of your favorite locations in Jersey City - Loosen Up JC, Liberty Mart, CKO Kickboxing Jersey City, Gateway Pharmacy,

Gluten Free Grain Free Bread from Simply Trudy - We used this gluten free and nut free bread for our tea sandwiches. They have 3 flavors and we used and loved them all - cinnamon raisin, classic, and rye. They are absolutely delicious and they are working on getting into local stores. The bread came out of the necessity to find another option to allergies.

Acuworx Acupuncture Studio - Having a pampering day with GJC means acupuncture … or in this case acupressure seeds on our ears. Panos, owner and acupuncturist, choose 3 points on the ear to help with anxiety and stress.

SugarSuckle - We got a treat and had amazing treats from SugarSuckle, a brand new custom bakery located in Hoboken. We munched on macaroons, oatmeal cookies, and cupcakes.

Let Me Up Do You by Alexandra Kress - Alex is a braiding wizard and did the most amazing braids in minutes. She is an expert hair stylist and Hoboken local.

I Deserve Project - This beautiful program was created by Kelly Gormeley Soto when she realized she deserved this! She led an amazing empowerment session first telling her story and then having us work together - we complimented each other for a minute, imagine the positivity! She is such an inspiration.

(And we are planing an empowerment at the end of July … stay tuned for details)
