**The Cheesecake Factory hosted us at their restaurant. While our food was comped and the post is sponsored, all opinions expressed are our own. Thank you so much for letting us eat our faces off! **
For National Cheesecake Day, The Cheesecake Factory is giving 50% off their Cheesecakes July 29th and 30th (dine in only). We decided to take a trip to the Newport Mall location a few days earlier to try some cheesecakes to celebrate this fun holiday. We invited Amanda, the editor and founder of Don't Sit Home, to join us on this dessert journey. The Cheesecake Factory did not disappoint and we are eating the leftovers as we speak!
We decided to start by getting a little bit of green in our systems both getting salads, so we could balance out the amount of dessert we were about to intake. We also had the amazing and classic passion fruit iced tea and we learned they now have a mint and green tea (next time!).
On to the important part. We order four cheesecakes all with different flavor profiles to test what we liked and what we didn’t. Here is our review:
Salted Caramel - This dessert takes the cake (pun intended). Both Amanda, and our editor, Jenna, LOVED this one. It was creamy and full of flavor, while not being too sweet. There were pieces of caramel in cheesecake and the crust was made from blondies. It was just the right amount of smooth and most definitely hit the spot. All the cheesecakes come with whipped cream, which is just delicious and could be its own dessert.
Lemon Meringue - This was a lemon cream cheesecake topped with layers of lemon mouse and meringue. Jenna is a big fan of anything lemon meringue and key lime so we decided to try it. It was our second favorite, but a touch too sweet. It has a creamy consistency because of the mouse and it would have gone great with a cappuccino.
Chocolate Mouse - This milky chocolate cheesecake was topped with a layer of Belgian chocolate mousse. It had the most dense consistency, but if you love chocolate this would be your dessert because it was very chocolatey. They also have the Godiva chocolate cheesecake which has even more chocolate. This would have gone great with a coffee drink as well, maybe coffee and Bailey’s?
Original Cheesecake - This is a classic cream cheesecake. If this is your dessert than this is perfect. We love a ricotta New York Style cheesecake so the flavor profile did not hit the spot.
We would like to thank our waiter, Jenna (yup same name), who was so great and knew her stuff. She is also a New Jersey native and currently resides in Bayonne. We also met the manager on duty, Ryder, who was so nice to chat with. Finally, the reception desk staff were funny and witty and the perfect way to start the night.
We also noticed that everyone sitting in the restaurant had a smile on their face. Families, friends, and dates all looked so happy to be spending time together, eating together, and surrounded by a nice atmosphere. What we love about The Cheesecake Factory, having eaten at the location at the Shops at Riverside innumerable times, is the excellent waitstaff, the great food, and the affordable prices since everything is basically family style without being family style.
Thank you so much to the Cheesecake Factory for having us and make sure to let them know Growing in Jersey City sent you.
